Dr. Dana Baldwin

Dr. Dana Baldwin

Dr. Dana Baldwin grew up in Sun Prairie, WI, where she graduated from Sun Prairie High School. She was drawn to the field of dentistry at a young age. Being born missing two of her permanent teeth caused her to be very self-conscious about her appearance. She went on to receive a beautiful smile during her experience working with a general dentist and oral surgeon. That journey allowed her to be empathetic to patients experiencing dental pain or lacking confidence due to the appearance of their teeth. She was motivated to become a dentist so that she could provide the same type of confidence to her patients. Dr. Baldwin went on to attend and graduate with a degree in biology from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse, having appeared on the Dean’s List every semester. For her graduate studies, she attended Roseman University’s College of Dental Medicine outside Salt Lake City, UT. In dental school, she was appointed by faculty into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society, and she was awarded a scholarship for Distinguished Professionalism and Ethics.

As to her practice philosophy, Dr. Baldwin sees dentistry as a unique combination of medicine, artistry, and patient interaction. She loves to learn, and dentistry allows her to continue to improve her skills, stay up to date on the most advanced technology, and gain valuable relationships with members of our community. She believes in the importance of providing customized comprehensive dental care that allows patients to choose the treatment that fits their goals. A successful dental practice, in her view, is one that is caring, welcoming, pain free, and transparent, allowing patients the opportunities for the best possible outcomes. Some of the things that Dr. Baldwin enjoys most about our practice are the emphasis on getting to know patients and taking the time to meet their specific needs, rather than seeing as many patients as possible to meet a quota. She also enjoys our office’s emphasis on continuing education, including training in placement of implants, Invisalign, and cosmetic dentistry.

Dr. Baldwin is currently engaged to her fiancé, Zach, who works in the area for the Cintas Corporation. The two of them are passionate about giving back to the greater La Crosse community through various organizations. Dr. Baldwin attributes much of her success throughout college and dental school to Zach’s love and support. When she’s not working in the office, Dr. Baldwin enjoys traveling and all kinds of outdoor activities that our area has to offer, including hiking, camping, backpacking, road biking, and boating with friends. She and Zach have a spunky German Shepherd/Australian Shepherd mix who helps them to stay active.

Shelley was born and raised in Onalaska. After graduating high school, she earned her dental assisting and dental hygiene degrees from Western Technical College. She was hired by our office right out of school, and she was on the staff when Neighborhood Smiles took over in 2011. If you ask any of our patients or staff, they’ll tell you that Shelley brings a great deal of fun to the office in addition to her great knowledge and skill. Her favorite part of her job here is definitely working with her patients and continuing to build relationships with them. Outside of the office, she loves spending time with her young sons, Bennett and Garrett, and her husband, Jason. Some of their favorite activities include traveling to visit extended family, being outside, and taking in the sun whenever they can.
